Genre: Mother Goose
Grade Level: 1st-3rd
Readers who will like this: Children who enjoy rhyming stories or poetry will especially enjoy this book.
Response/Rating (1-4): 3; This is a great little mother goose book that is different than what we are used to. The illustrations are beautiful and the stories are silly. The rhyming makes you want to keep reading on and on. This tells stories of the Ukraine and uses words like Babushka throughout it. This will give the children a peek into the culture of someone other than the one they live in.
One question you would ask before a read aloud: Does anyone know what a Babushka is?
